The restoration has strived to maintain the character and proportions of the original historic home, while providing all modern conveniences, and a lot of charm. It is pleasing to the eye and soothing to the senses. The remarkable free-standing circular stone stair case remains a tribute to the engineering skills of the builders of centuries ago. The wooden ceiling beams and old stone floors have been maintained throughout and lend a special historical ambiance to the rooms. The spacious and gracious living room looks out over the fig and bamboo trees, and the new swimming pool of the small garden of the property and the rooftops of the town, while comfortable seating, elegant furnishings and the light and airy atmosphere make for a relaxing experience. A small corner desk is looking out over the garden is perfect for writing or working with a laptop via the WIFI. There is air-conditioning in the living room for the summer and heating for the winter, as well as the possibility of a warming wood-burning fireplace. Up a ladder staircase is the second bedroom, a loft niche at mezzanine level, containing two beds, and likely to be greatly enjoyed by youngsters. Please note, that it is not a closed-in bedroom, and would not be suitable for adults. The kitchen is entirely new, has plenty of cupboard and drawer space, and contains an oven, stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, various small appliances and a table for dining. A bathroom with shower, and a separate toilet are within the apartment, while a washing machine is available in the attic one level up. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed and antique furnishings, with double-glazed windows and exterior shutters to keep the room cool during the afternoon sun.
