Savour a Roman interlude in a seventeenth century Historical Palazzo originally built by an aristocratic and Papal family and now carefully restored to its Renaissance glory. It is in a perfect location at the Piazza del Orologio, on  a quiet and chic street in the historic centre. It is a nearby stroll to both the Piazza Navonna and the wonderful Campo di Fiori, Rome's famed Fruit and Vegetable market in the day (and open-air cocktail party by night). You will also find it an easy walk to Castel St.Angelo and St. Peter's, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trastevere, the Colosseum and more.  There is also a famous Italian language school, La Scuola Leonardo di Vinci in the Piazza del Orologio - if you are ambitious and want to study Italian while here.

This charming 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom  apartment, sleeps  up to 6. It offers  high ceilings, original terracotto floors, ample proportions,  gracious spaces  and elegant furnishings with art and antiques in the family for generations.. Every corner evinces style and taste. One of its most impressive features are its ceilings, beautifully painted and carefully preserved evidence of the apartment's aristocratic past. Like the ceilings, the polished Terracotta floors are also original and again, evocative of the building's Renaissance heritage.

The Master bedroom offers a queen-sized bed, fine fabrics, luxury linens, and a full bathroom. . The living room is double-sized with deep and comfy sofas, large screen TV, and of course wireless Internet everywhere. The kitchen is well equipped, if you like to cook. Or if you don't, we can book a cook for you to serve you in the dining room.  That is if you can sacrifice strolling to one of the many wonderful Roman restaurants in the neighborhood.  We provide the list!  There is a washing machine, and of course, wireless Internet!

This refined and sophisticated apartment makes a perfect furnished base for a Roman interlude and a cultural city break For added luxury, we can add daily or live-in help , to look after you , to shop, and even to cook.

Beautiful apartment in a perfect location
Posted on: 06/07/2017

Our family of five (two adults, three teenagers) had a wonderful week long stay in this beautiful apartment. It was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The best part was really the location - close to everything and yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We loved the nearby restaurants and sites and rarely took a cab as everything was in walking distance. It was convenient to have a washing machine as we each brought just a small carry on. Note that there is no dryer but the large drying rack was a fine substitute. The owners provided tips on restaurants and activities that we found very helpful. I would highly recommend this property!

Xmas in Rome

What a beautiful home. The frescoed ceilings in the living and dining room are exquisite. We highly recommend This property. There were 5 of us, including our 8 year old grandson and plenty of room. The location is perfect, kitchen up to date. Commendable homes, which we have used before, could not have been more accommodating and helpful, especially after my fall and breaking my nose while walking to the Vatican. Thank you Susan and Adriana.

Thank you so much for writing this review. I know that this trip was a long anticipated, special occasion for you and your family, and we are certainly glad that the home was what you wanted. You fall, however, was unfortunate, and we hope that you are recovered. We look forward to hearing from you again.

We loved EVERYTHING about your place The living room was so spacious and welcoming. The coffee table alone has been the biggest Ive ever seen at a home amongst my friends. We had a 4yo girl with us and she enjoyed the place particularly the "cute elevator and fountain with fishes. Your recommendation of Osteria del Pegno was a favorite of our group. We went there twice. Thanks for being a part of a very memorable trip.

We loved EVERYTHING about your place…The living room was so spacious and welcoming. The coffee table alone has been the biggest I’ve ever seen at a home amongst my friends. We had a 4yo girl who enjoyed everything in the place including the little elevator and fish pond on the ground floor. Your recommendation of Osteria del Pegno was a favorite of our group. Thanks for being a part of a very memorable trip.

"..a splendid experience..."

The location of the property was excellent and the property itself was beautiful! A genuine palazzo in a quiet little street close to the piazza Navona. Very little traffic. The area felt very safe and we were close to a wide range of good quality local amenities. There was a wonderful range of shops, bars, cafés and restaurants to choose from. The owner provided information and recommendations for local restaurants and this was very helpful. We enjoyed trying different places each night! The sitting room and dining room/library were particularly beautiful and it was a pleasure to have the use of them during our busy week in Rome. The property was generally well maintained and fairly clean. The property manager provided excellent service and was readily available to help with any issues, eg arranging transfers to/from airport, which were excellent and good value. I would recommend the property to anyone who is looking to have an authentic experience of living in a genuine historic Roman property in a beautiful old building. We found it to be a splendid experience who have us great pleasure. It's central location also meant that many of the best sights and places of interest were easily accessible on foot. A great place to come back to at the end of a busy, exciting day.

A wonderful, authentic place to stay in Piazza Navona area
Posted on: 19/04/2016
We spent a week in the apartment, which is within a fabulous palazzo, with our family joining us half way through: 5 adults in total. The 3rd bedroom is very small and I would say it would suit a child rather than a adult. The sitting room and dining room/library were stunning and it was a genuinely lovely experience to have this as a base for our busy week in Rome. The local area, around Piazza Navona, was fantastic with many restaurants, shops and bars to choose from. The area felt very safe and friendly and the apartment was in a quiet street with very little traffic. We were celebrating a big family event and staying in the apartment added to our enjoyment and to our whole experience of Rome. We were very central and many of the best sights and experiences were within easy walking distance. A very authentic experience of living in a genuine old palazzo. Splendid!

Thank you for your very nice review. We are glad that you , like us appreciated this very special place. We do normally reserve the third bedroom just for children, as the room is small, though the bed is not; its 120 cm ( between a single and a double). I am not sure that we knew that your son was an adult ! However, we have had single adults who were comfortable there. Again, thank you for staying with us , and for being such a nice guest,

"The convenience to markets, shopping, and restaurants was especially nice."

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful family home with is. We enjoyed the comfort of your home and its great location in Rome. During our stay we enjoyed all of the traditional highlights of Rome - Piazza Navona, the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's, the Roman Forum, Capitoline Museum, the Appian Way, and so many others. The convenience to markets, shopping, and restaurants was especially nice.

A wonderful family home near Piazza Narvona and St. Peters Square
Posted on: 10/01/2016
It was our pleasure to occupy this family apartment after Christmas, 2015. The property management was first-rate! We were oriented to the property prior to our travels and greeted at the door upon our arrival. The property is a very comfortable 3 bedroom apartment within a historic villa. It has the feel of a warm and traditional family home. The location may be perfectly located west of Piazza Narvona and east of the Tiber. Across a lovely pedestrian bridge and past Castel San'Angelo lies St. Peter's Bascilica and the Vatican. Nearly all the major highlights of Rome are within walking distance from this apartment. And if you know Rome, you know that the stroll is as remarkable as the destination. Throughout the neighborhood are wonderful restaurants, shops of every kind, and Campo de Fiori, Rome's spectacular outdoor market, is a short walk away. To close, we had a delightful time in Rome following Christmas and through the New Year, based at this wonderful apartment. Rome was quiet and we confronted no lines or crowds at the major sites, with the exception of the Vatican and St. Peter's where a reservation will address that concern. New Years Day Mass at St. Peter's Square, including a blessing from Pope Francis, was an experience we'll never forget.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your stay, and for writing such a descriptive review.. Of course , we are delighted to hear that you were so pleased with the apartment, and appreciated the glories of its location and Rome in general. Welcome to the club! We can imagine that New Year's Day with Pope Francis was, indeed, a memory to lat a lifetime. I am sure that you and your family will talk of this trip for years to come. Perhaps you will even return. All best wishes, Susan
